Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian and former Arsenal midfielder, has agreed to join Villareal of the top division in Spain.
The 32-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Yellow Submarines after completing a physical.
He is returning to Spain, where he played for Atletico Madrid for ten seasons and Almeria for a few.
After he was unable to come to an agreement with Arsenal to extend his contract, it expired in June, leaving him a free agent.
He made 167 appearances and scored nine goals during his five seasons with the Gunners.
He has been charged with five charges of rape and one act of sexual assault, and he is scheduled to appear in a Westminster magistrate court on August 5, 2025.
Three different women have made the accusations against him, which relate to events that happened between 2021 and 2022.
Through his solicitors, Partey has embraced the chance to finally clear his name and refute the accusations made against him.
