Nice clinch spot in Champions League after a six-goal victory

Nice secured Champions League qualification with a six-goal win, securing the title, while Saint-Etienne suffered relegation back to the second tier.

 

On the final day, fourth-placed Nice remains in pole position, aiming to secure a spot at the continent’s top table if they can hold off Lille, Strasbourg, and Lyon.

 

Ineos-owned club secured a top-four spot by defeating Brest 6-0 on the Cote d’Azur, with Gaetan Laborde scoring twice.

 

Nice scored their 12th Ligue 1 goal this season, with Evann Guessand’s goal, followed by Badredine Bouanani’s penalty, Terem Moffi’s goal, and Ali Abdi’s goal.

 

Nice will enter the Champions League in the third qualifying round in early August, requiring two two-legged ties to advance to the league stage.

 

Lille secures fifth place in the Europa League after a 2-1 win against Reims, while Strasbourg faces a 3-2 loss against Le Havre, causing a late relegation battle twist.

 

Le Havre emerged victorious in a crucial match against Reims and Nantes, thanks to Abdoulaye Toure’s second penalty, ensuring they escape the drop zone and secure a spot in Ligue 1 next season.

 

Reims will face PSG in the French Cup final, with the latter having to manage the two legs of a tie.

 

Lacazette’s 200th Lyon goal

 

Lyon secured sixth place after beating Angers 2-0, thanks to Alexandre Lacazette’s goal, reaching a double-century of goals for his boyhood club.
