In reaction to a tribalistic remark made by a social media user who questioned his intimate ties to the Igbo culture, award-winning Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has declared that he is “Igbo by blood.”
When a user with the name @Yakbel cautioned the singer against interacting with Igbo people on X (previously Twitter), saying that such interactions could result in treachery, the conflict broke out.

Davido quickly and defiantly responded by denying the tribal implication and reaffirming his own affiliation with the Igbo people. “Hehe. He wrote, “I am Igbo by blood.”
